Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Muhammad disliked that nails and armpit hair be removed after death; he said that when a patient’s illness becomes severe, his family should take care of this task for him.

Hasan says that the nails of the deceased will be cut. Shuba says that I mentioned this to Hammad, so he denied it and said: What do you think, if he was not circumcised, should circumcision also be performed?

Hazrat Abu Qalabah narrates that Hazrat Sa’d was giving ghusl to a deceased person when he asked for a razor.

Muhammad says that when the illness of a patient becomes severe, his mustache, nails, and excess hair should be trimmed; when he dies, none of these should be trimmed.

Hazrat Bakr, when he saw the nails or hair of the deceased unusually long, would cut them.

Hazrat Abu Al-Ala Al-Qaisi narrates that Hazrat Abu Al-Malih Al-Hudhali advised me that when he passes away, his nails and hair should be cut.

Hazrat Abu Qilabah narrates that Hazrat Sa’d was giving ghusl to a deceased person. He asked for a razor and shaved the head of the deceased.
