Hadith 11195
١١١٩٥ - حدثنا [جرير (بن) (١) عبد الحميد عن مغيرة عن حماد من [إبراهيم قال: إذا (غسّل) (٢) البيت جعل بينه وبين (السماء) (٣) سترة] (٤).
Ibrahim says: When the deceased is given a bath, a screen should be made between him and the sky.
Hadith 11196
١١١٩٦ - حدثنا (أزهر) (١) السمان عن ابن عون (٢) (أن) (٣) محمدًا كان يستر الميت (بجهده) (٤).
Ibn Aun narrates that Muhammad used to cover the private parts of the deceased with strength (with effort).
Hadith 11197
١١١٩٧ - حدثنا حفص بن غياث عن أشعث عن الحسن أنه قال: لا بأس أن ⦗٤٥٤⦘ يغسل (الرجل) (١) في (الفضاء) (٢) وكره أن يغسل الميت كذلك.
Hasan says that there is no harm in giving a bath to a person in an open place. However, it is considered disliked to give a bath to a deceased person in this manner.
Hadith 11198
١١١٩٨ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن إدريس عن ابن جريج عن محمد بن علي قال: غسل النبي ﷺ في قميص (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Muhammad bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bathed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in a shirt.
Hadith 11199
١١١٩٩ - حدثنا أبو داود عن (همام عن أيوب) (١) قال: قال (لي أبو) (٢) قلابة: استره ما استطعت.
Ayyub narrates that Hazrat Abu Qalabah said to me: Conceal the body of the deceased as much as possible.
Hadith 11200
١١٢٠٠ - حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن يزيد عن عبد اللَّه بن الحارث قال: غسل النبي ﷺ (علي) (١) (وعلى النبي ﷺ) (٢) قميصه، وعلى يد علي خرقة يغسله بها، يدخل يده تحت القميص فيغسله والقميص عليه (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) gave Ghusl (ritual washing) to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing his shirt. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) had a piece of cloth in his hand with which he was giving the Ghusl. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) would put his hand under the shirt and give the Prophet the Ghusl, while the shirt remained on his body.
Hadith 11201
١١٢٠١ - حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد القطان عن جعفر عن أبيه قال: لما أرادوا أن يغسلوا النبي ﷺ كان عليه قميص فأرادوا أن ينزعوه، (فسمعوا) (١) نداء من البيت: لا تنزعوا القميص (٢).
Hazrat Ja'far narrates from his father that when the Companions intended to give you (the Prophet) the ritual bath, at that time the blessed body of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was wearing a shirt. The Companions intended to remove it, but a (unseen) voice came from inside the house saying: "Do not remove the shirt."
Hadith 11202
١١٢٠٢ - حدثنا (حميد) (١) بن عبد الرحمن عن زهير عن أبي إسحاق عن الضحاك قال: لا تجردوني.
Hazrat Dhahak says: "Do not bathe me by stripping me naked."
