Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi' bin Khadij that he says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The collector (the one who collects Zakat and charity) has a right in the charity just as the warrior has in the way of Allah, until he returns home.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Indeed, the trustworthy treasurer is the one who gives to whom he is commanded to give, so he gives that thing completely, abundantly, and with a cheerful heart to the recipient to whom he has been ordered to give.

Hazrat Hasan bin Muslim al-Makki narrates that Hazrat Umar Farooq sent a person from Banu Thaqif to collect charity (sadaqat), then afterwards he saw him and said to him: Do you not see that for you also there is a reward equal to that of a warrior (ghazi) in the path of Allah?

Hasan says that if a person is given charity and then he puts it in its (proper) place, then he will have a reward equal to that of its owner.
