If Someone Has Mudarabah Wealth, Is Zakah Due on It?
Hadith 10965
١٠٩٦٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: ثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن أشعث عن (١) أبي الزبير عن جابر قال: (سألته) (٢) عن الرجل يسلف إلى أهل ⦗٣٧٤⦘ الأرض (أو) (٣) يكون له الدين أيزكيه؟ قال: نعم (٤).
Hazrat Sha’bi says that there is no zakat on (money in) mudarabah. This is because one does not know what has been done with it.
Hadith 10966
١٠٩٦٦ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن رجل عن الشعبي قال: ليس في مضاربةٍ زكاةُ؛ لأنه لا يدري ما (يصنع) (١).
Hazrat Abu Ja'far says that by Allah Almighty's command (wal-gharimeen) is meant those people who spend without causing corruption, and by ibn al-sabeel is meant those people who travel from one land to another (from one place to another).
