Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Harb bin Ubaidullah that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Ushr is not upon the Muslims. Indeed, Ushr is upon the Jews and the Christians.

A narration similar to that of Hazrat Abu’l-Ahwas is reported from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hazrat Saeed bin Zaid narrates that I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: O assembly of Arabs, praise and thank Allah, for He has lifted the tithe from you.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: One land cannot have two Qiblahs, and there is no jizya upon a Muslim.

Hazrat Ziyad bin Hudair narrates that Hazrat Umar Farooq sent me to the villagers and forbade me from collecting 'ushr from the Muslims or the tribute (kharaj) that the dhimmis pay.

It is narrated from Hazrat Uthman bin Abu al-As that the delegation of Thaqif came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and they set a condition (for accepting Islam) that tax, ushr, and kharaj should not be taken from them. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Tax (collector) will not be taken from you, ushr will not be taken from you, and no outsider will be appointed as a ruler over you.
