ما قالوا في الرجل إذا وضع الصدقة في صنف واحد
Giving all zakah to one category among the recipients
Hadith 10738
١٠٧٣٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا حفص وأبو معاوية عن (حجاج) (١) عن ⦗٣١٤⦘ المنهال (عن زر) (٢) عن (حذيفة) (٣) قال: (إذا) (٤) أعطاها في صنف واحد من الأصناف الثمانية التي سمى اللَّه (تعالى) (٥) (أجزأه) (٦) (٧).
Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the eight categories for Zakat which Allah Almighty has mentioned, giving Zakat to any one of these categories is also sufficient.
Hadith 10739
١٠٧٣٩ - حدثنا علي بن هاشم عن ابن أبي ليلى [عن الحكم قال: قال حذيفة: إذا وضعت في أي الاصناف شئت أجزأك إذا لم تجد غيره (١).
Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that he may give zakat to any recipient he wishes, provided he does not find anyone else besides him.
Hadith 10740
١٠٧٤٠ - حدثنا وكيع عن ابن أبي ليلى] (١) أو غيره عن المنهال عن (زر) (٢) عن حذيفة قال: إن جعلها في صنف واحد أجزأه (٣).
Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if you pay Zakat to any one category, then this is sufficient on your part.
Hadith 10741
١٠٧٤١ - حدثنا حفص عن ليث عن عطاء أن عمر كان يأخذ العرض في الصدقة ويعطيها في صنف واحد مما سمى اللَّه (تعالى) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Ata states that Hazrat Umar Farooq used to collect goods as zakat, and he would give them to any of those whom Allah Almighty has mentioned as recipients of zakat.
Hadith 10742
١٠٧٤٢ - حدثنا جرير عن عطاء عن سعيد بن جبير.
Hazrat Mughira and Ibrahim state that giving zakat to any one of the categories specified by Allah Almighty is sufficient for you.
Hadith 10744
١٠٧٤٤ - حدثنا وكيع (بن) (١) الجراح عن أبي جعفر عن الربيع عن أبي العالية قال: لا بأس أن (تجعلها) (٢) في صنف واحد (مما) (٣) قال اللَّه (تعالى) (٤).
Hazrat Abu Alia states that there is no harm in giving to any one of the expenditures that Allah Almighty has mentioned.
Hadith 10745
١٠٧٤٥ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن حجاج عن عطاء قال: سألته أعطي الصدقة في صنف واحد من الأصناف الثمانية قال: نعم.
Hazrat Hajjaj says that I asked Hazrat Ata whether it is permissible to give Zakat to only one of the eight categories. He replied, "Yes."
Hadith 10746
١٠٧٤٦ - حدثنا وكيع عن يزيد عن الحسن قال: لا بأس أن (تجعلها) (١) في صنف واحد من (الأصناف) (٢) (الثمانية) (٣).
Hasan says that there is no harm in giving zakat to any one of the eight categories.
Hadith 10747
١٠٧٤٧ - حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة عن الحكم عن إبراهيم قال: لا بأس أن (تجعلها) (١) في [صنف واحد مما سمى اللَّه (تعالى) (٢).
Ibrahim says that there is no harm in giving to any one of the expenditures prescribed by Allah Almighty.
Hadith 10748
١٠٧٤٨ - حدثنا ابن مهدي عن حماد بن سلمة عن حميد عن عكرمة قال: (صرفها) (١) في (الأصناف) (٢).
Hazrat Ikrimah says that (it is better that) you give zakat to all the eligible recipients, and Hasan says that it is sufficient to give it to whomever you wish. (It is not necessary to give to all.)
Hadith 10750
١٠٧٥٠ - حدثنا كثير بن هشام عن جعفر عن ميمون قال: سمعته يقول: لو وضعت الزكاة في هذين الصنفين: (الفقراء) (١) والمساكين لرأيت أن ذلك (يجزئ عني) (٢).
Hazrat Ja'far says that I heard from Hazrat Maymun, he says that if I pay Zakat to the two categories of the poor and the needy, then I consider that this is sufficient on my part.
