Those who preferred that no one knows about their fast
Hadith 10016
١٠٠١٦ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أخبرنا حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت عن عبد الرحمن بن (عباس) (١) عن أبي هريرة قال: إذا كان أحدكم صائمًا فليدهن حتى ⦗١٢٣⦘ لا يرى عليه أثر صومه، وإذا بزق (فليستر) (٢) بزاقه. وأشار (يزيد) (٣) بيده (٤) كأنه يغطي بها فاه (٥).
Hazrat Abu Huraira says that if any of you is fasting, he should apply oil so that no one knows he is fasting. When he spits, he should spit discreetly. While saying this, the narrator Yazid bin Haroon gestured with his hand as if covering his mouth.
Hadith 10017
١٠٠١٧ - حدثنا (أبو الأحوص عن منصور عن) (١) هلال بن يساف قال: قال عيسى بن مريم: إذا كان (يوم يصوم) (٢) أحدكم فليدهن شفتيه (٣).
Jesus son of Mary used to say that when any of you is fasting, he should apply oil to his lips.
Hadith 10018
١٠٠١٨ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن أبي حصين عن يحيى (عن مسروق) (١) (عن) (٢) (عبد اللَّه) (٣) قال: إذا أصبحتم صيامًا فأصبحوا مدهنين (٤).
Hazrat Abdullah says that when any of you is fasting, he should apply oil.
