Regarding the six fasts of Shawwal
Hadith 9983
٩٩٨٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن المبارك عن سعد بن سعيد قال: سمعت عمر بن ثابت (قال) (١): سمعت أبا أيوب الأنصاري يقول: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "من صام رمضان (ثم) (٢) أتبعه بستة (أيام) (٣) من شوال فقد صام الدهر أو فكأنما صام الدهر" (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever fasts in Ramadan and then also keeps six fasts in Shawwal, it is as if he has fasted for the whole year.
Hadith 9984
٩٩٨٤ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن أبي موسى عن الحسن قال: إذا ذكر (عنده) (١) (الستة) (٢) التي (يصومها) (٣) بعض الناس بعد رمضان تطوعًا كان يقول: لقد رضي اللَّه ﷿ (٤) بهذا الشهر للسنة كلها.
Hazrat Abu Musa says that when the observance of six voluntary fasts after Ramadan was mentioned before Hasan, he would say that Allah Almighty grants the reward of fasting for the whole year for the fasts of this month.
