(ما قالوا في المرأة): من قال لا (تصوم) تطوعا إلا بإذن زوجها
A woman cannot fast voluntarily without her husband's permission
Hadith 9969
٩٩٦٩ - حدثنا (عبد الرحيم) (١) بن سليمان عن ليث عن عبد الملك عن عطاء عن ابن عمر قال: أتت امرأة (إلى) (٢) النبي ﷺ فقالت: يا نبي اللَّه ما حق الزوج على زوجته قال: "لا (تصوم) (٣) إلا بإذنه (٤) إلا الفريضة فإن فعلت أثمت ولم يقبل (منها) (٥) " (٦).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that once a woman came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What right does a husband have over his wife?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "She should not observe a voluntary fast without her husband's permission. If she does so, she will be sinful and her action will not be accepted."
Hadith 9970
٩٩٧٠ - حدثنا ابن فضيل عن يزيد عن (زيد) (١) بن وهب قال: كتب إلينا عمر أن المرأة لا تصوم تطوعًا [إلا بإذن زوجها (٢).
Hazrat Zaid bin Wahb narrates that Hazrat Umar wrote to us that a woman cannot observe a voluntary fast without her husband's permission.
Hadith 9971
٩٩٧١ - حدثنا ابن فضيل عن يزيد عن مقسم عن ابن عباس قال: لا تصوم تطوعًا] (١) وهو شاهد إلا بإذنه (٢).
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) reported that when her husband is present, a woman cannot observe a voluntary fast (nafl) without her husband's permission.
Hadith 9972
٩٩٧٢ - حدثنا وكيع (١) عن أبي الزناد عن موسى بن أبي عثمان عن أبيه عن أبي هريرة عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال: "لا (تصوم) (٢) المرأة إلا بإذن زوجها" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A woman cannot observe a voluntary fast without her husband's permission.
