Hadith 9713
Hazrat Abu Umair bin Anas says that my uncle, an Ansari, narrated to me that once we did not see the Shawwal moon at night and so we fasted the next day. In the latter part of the day, some horsemen came and testified before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that they had seen the moon yesterday. The Prophet ordered the people to break their fast and said that tomorrow the people should come to the Eidgah for the Eid prayer.
Hadith 9714
Hazrat Abu Ya’foor’s father narrates that Hazrat Mugheerah bin Shu’bah was in Kufa. There, the crescent moon was sighted. He did not come out for Eid on that day. He came the next day, delivered a sermon to the people from atop a camel, and then returned.
Hadith 9715
Hazrat Zuhri narrates that testimony was given to Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that people had sighted the moon of Eid. Since a considerable part of the day had already passed, Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Eid prayer will be offered the next day.
