Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done while traveling from Makkah to Madinah, in the state of fasting and in the state of Ihram.

Hazrat Muslim bin Saeed reports that Hazrat Ibn Masood was asked about cupping while fasting, so he replied that there is no harm in it.

Hazrat Humaid says that Hazrat Anas was asked about cupping while fasting, so he replied that we used to consider excessiveness in cupping as disliked.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) was asked about cupping while fasting, so he replied that the fast is broken by something entering (the body), not by something exiting.

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to get cupped while fasting in the beginning, then he stopped doing so, and after that, he used to get cupped at night.

Hazrat Abu Saeed says that there is no harm in a fasting person getting cupped.

Hazrat Dinar says that I cupped Hazrat Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was fasting.

Hazrat Sha'bi narrates that Hazrat Husain bin 'Ir had cupping done while he was fasting.

Hazrat Mujahid and Hazrat Tawus did not consider there to be any harm in cupping for a fasting person.

Hazrat Abdul A'la says that I saw Hazrat Abdur Rahman Salmi having cupping done before sunset while he was fasting. I said to him, "O Abu Abdur Rahman! Do you not consider cupping for a fasting person to be disliked?" He replied, "Cupping for a fasting person has been considered disliked due to the fear of causing weakness."

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila narrates that the companions used to say that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade cupping and continuous fasting while in the state of fasting, out of compassion for his companions and to make things easier for them.

Hazrat Buzay’ reports that he asked Hazrat Abu Wa’il about cupping while fasting, so he replied that its undesirability is due to the fear of weakness.

Hazrat Jubair bin Nufair narrates that Hazrat Mu'adh had cupping done while he was fasting.

Hazrat Ata and Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair say that if the fasting person does not fear weakness, then there is no harm in getting cupped.

It is also narrated in the same way from Hazrat Qasim and Hazrat Salim.

Ayyub narrates that a man asked Hazrat Ikrimah about cupping while fasting, so he replied that there is no harm in it; it is like the excrement that comes out of your body.

Hazrat Urwah used to have cupping done while fasting.

Hazrat Umm Salamah had cupping done while she was fasting.

Hazrat Nafi’ says that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to have cupping done while fasting, then he stopped doing so. I do not know why he stopped; whether he stopped due to dislike or due to weakness.

Hazrat Abu Taybah narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the state of fasting and I applied cupping to him.

Hazrat Abu Ja'far says that cupping was considered undesirable for a fasting person due to the fear of weakness.
