Hadith 9536
٩٥٣٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر (الحنفي) (١) عن قتادة عن إبراهيم قال: لا يتطوع الرجل بصوم وعليه شيء من (قضاء) (٢) رمضان.
Ibrahim considered it disliked for a man to observe voluntary fasts while he still has missed fasts of Ramadan to make up.
Hadith 9537
٩٥٣٧ - حدثنا غندر عن (شعبة) (١) عن قتادة عن الحسن أنه كره أن يتطوع بصيام وعليه قضاء من رمضان إلا العشر.
Hasan considered it disliked for a man to observe voluntary fasts while he still has missed fasts of Ramadan to make up, however, he may fast the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
Hadith 9538
٩٥٣٨ - حدثنا ابن مهدي عن حماد بن سلمة عن هشام عن أبيه قال: مثل الذي يتطوع وعليه قضاء من رمضان مثل الذي يسبح وهو يخاف أن تفوته المكتوبة.
Hazrat Urwah says that the example of a person who keeps voluntary fasts while the missed fasts of Ramadan are still due is like the person who is engaged in offering voluntary prayers while there is a fear of missing the obligatory prayer.
Hadith 9539
٩٥٣٩ - حدثنا ابن مهدي عن مالك بن أنس قال: سئل سليمان بن يسار وسعيد بن المسيب عن رجل تطوع وعليه قضاء من رمضان فكرها ذلك.
Hazrat Malik bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Hazrat Sulaiman bin Yasar and Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib were asked about a person who keeps a voluntary fast while he still has missed fasts of Ramadan to make up; both of them considered it disliked.
