How Many People Make a Congregation?
Hadith 9051
٩٠٥١ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن الربيع بن بدر عن أبيه عن جده عن أبي موسى أن النبي ﷺ قال: "الاثنان فما فوقهما جماعة" (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Two or more persons constitute a congregation.
Hadith 9052
٩٠٥٢ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: أخبرنا هشام الدستوائي عن حماد عن إبراهيم قال: إذا صلى الرجل مع الرجل فهما جماعة (لهما) (١) التضعيف خمس (وعشرون) (٢) درجة.
Ibrahim says that if two people pray together, this is considered congregation, and they will receive twenty-five times more reward.
Hadith 9053
٩٠٥٣ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن هشام عن الحسن قال: الثلاثة جماعة.
Hasan says that a congregation is formed by three people.
