Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Talha narrates that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us, and at that time, signs of happiness were apparent on his blessed face. We said, "O Messenger of Allah! Today we see signs of happiness on your blessed face; has something special happened?" He replied, "An angel came to me. He said, 'O Muhammad! Your Lord says: Are you pleased that if someone from your Ummah sends blessings (Durood) upon you once, I will send mercy upon him ten times? And whoever sends peace (Salam) upon you once, I will send peace upon him ten times.' The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Why should I not be pleased with this?'"

It is narrated from Hazrat Aamir bin Rabee’ah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever sends blessings upon me, the angels continue to send mercy upon him as long as he keeps sending blessings. So it is up to the servant whether he wants to receive more prayers from the angels or fewer prayers.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aws bin Aws that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The best of your days is the day of Friday. On this day Adam was created, on this day the trumpet will be blown, and on this day the cry will be raised. On this day, send abundant blessings (salat) upon me, for your blessings will be presented to me. A man asked: O Messenger of Allah! How will our blessings be presented to you when you will have become part of the earth after your blessed passing? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: Allah Almighty has made it forbidden for the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that whoever sends blessings upon the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), ten good deeds are written for him, ten of his sins are forgiven, and his ten ranks are elevated.

Hazrat Yazid Raqashi states that it is the responsibility of an angel that wherever any person sends blessings (Durood) upon the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that angel conveys his Durood to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), saying that such-and-such of your followers has sent blessings upon you.

It is narrated from Hasan that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Send abundant blessings upon me on the day of Friday, for these blessings are presented to me."

It is narrated from Hasan that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is sufficient miserliness for a person that when I am mentioned in his presence, he does not send blessings upon me."

It is narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah Almighty sends mercy upon him ten times.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah Almighty sends mercy upon him ten times and forgives ten of his sins.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Send blessings upon me, for your sending blessings upon me is a means of purification for you."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There are some angels of Allah Almighty who roam the earth and convey the greetings of my Ummah to me.

Hazrat Abi narrates that a man asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "If I make my prayer into salutations upon you, how is that?" The Prophet replied: "This act will suffice for all your worldly and Hereafter affairs."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When my Lord gave me glad tidings about my Ummah, I prostrated. The glad tidings were that if any person from my Ummah sends blessings upon me once, Allah Almighty will write ten good deeds in his record of deeds and forgive ten of his sins.
