Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ata says that when you have completed one rak‘ah and the imam has completed two, then you should not recite the tashahhud.

Ibn Shihab says: He will recite the Tashahhud.

Hasan says that if someone catches one rak‘ah with the imam, he will recite the tashahhud.

Hazrat Ata, regarding the person who joins one rak'ah with the Imam, says that he will not recite Tashahhud. Hazrat Amr bin Dinar says that I also understand the same.

Hazrat Malik bin Anas says that I asked Hazrat Nafi' and Hazrat Ibn Shihab about the person who catches one rak'ah, so will he sit with the imam for the qa'dah? They replied that he will recite the tashahhud.
