Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Muhammad bin Ja'far bin Zubair narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Hazrat Abdullah bin Unais to Khalid bin Sufyan. He says that when I reached him, it was the time of Asr (afternoon prayer). I feared that I would have to make some effort to reach him, so I performed the prayer while walking.

Hazrat Abu Sahba says that I saw Hazrat Mujahid coming from Batha. When he reached Masjid al-Haram, he recited the verse of prostration and performed sajdah. I mentioned this to Hazrat Ata, and he said, "What is so surprising about this? The companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray while walking."

Hazrat Saeed bin Abdul Aziz says that I asked Hazrat Mak'hool whether a person can pray while walking? He replied that if he performs the prayer by gestures, then there is no harm in it.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair says that during battle, we used to perform prayers while walking.

Hazrat Azraq bin Qais narrates that Hazrat Abu Barzah performed prayer while holding the reins of his mount and walking.
