If a Person Says 'Yarhamuk Allah' to Someone During Prayer, What Is Required of Him?
Hadith 8236
٨٢٣٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: ثنا عبدة عن سفيان عن غالب أبي الهذيل قال: سئل إبراهيم عن رجل عطس في الصلاة فقال له آخر وهو في الصلاة: يرحمك اللَّه فقال إبراهيم: إنما قال معروفًا وليس عليه إعادة.
Hazrat Ghalib Abu Huzail narrates that Ibrahim was asked: If a person sneezes during prayer and someone else says to him "Yarhamuk Allah" (may Allah have mercy on you), what is the ruling regarding this? Ibrahim replied: He has said a good word; repetition (of the prayer) is not obligatory upon him.
Hadith 8237
٨٢٣٧ - حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة عن حماد عن إبراهيم في رجل عطس وهو في الصلاة (فشمته) (١) رجل فقال وهو في الصلاة: يرحمك اللَّه، قال إبراهيم: يستأنف.
Ibrahim says that if a person sneezes during prayer and someone else says to him "Yarhamukallah," then he will have to repeat the prayer.
