Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Sa’ib narrates that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prayer on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, he placed his shoes to his left side.

Hazrat Saeed Maqbari narrates that I asked Hazrat Abu Hurairah, "When I pray, where should I place my shoes?" He replied, "Place them between your legs and do not cause any discomfort to a Muslim because of them."

Hazrat Nafi' bin Jubair says that removing shoes during prayer is an innovation (bid'ah).

Hazrat Abdul Aziz bin Hakeem narrates that I saw Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) take off his shoes and place them behind himself.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When any one of you prays, he should place his shoes behind him.

Hazrat Abu Saeed narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was offering prayer, and during the prayer, he took off his shoes and placed them on his left side.
