Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to remain seated in his place after leading the Fajr prayer until the sun had risen.

Hazrat Musa bin Talha narrates that Hazrat Talha, after performing the prayer, would remain seated at his place of prayer and would stay there until it became permissible to offer the voluntary prayer, then he would perform the voluntary prayer.

Hazrat Hakam states that a man from Banu Tamim came to Hasan while he was sitting on his prayer mat. Hasan said to him that when a Muslim, after offering the morning prayer, remains seated on his prayer mat, this act becomes a means of salvation from Hell for him.

Hazrat Salman says that when you offer the morning prayer, remember Allah until sunrise; if you are not able to do so, then sleep, because the one who sleeps remains safe from sins.
