Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Yunus bin Jubair and Hasan, regarding the person who stands for prayer after two rak'ahs of Tarawih, state that he can pray until the Imam stands up; when the Imam stands up, he should join him. Hazrat Shu'bah says that one of these two preferred it and the other disliked it.

Hazrat Abu Maryam narrates that Hazrat Ibn Aswad used to lead people in forty rak'ahs of Tarawih and Witr. He used to offer twelve rak'ahs between every two Tarweehs and used to say that there is prayer between every two Tarweehs.

Hazrat Baheer bin Risan narrates that he saw Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit, who, when he saw people praying during the Imam's Tarweeha, scolded them. They paid no attention to his scolding and did not refrain from this act. Then Hazrat Ubadah beat those people. And I myself saw him beating people for this act.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair considered it undesirable to say: There is a prayer after every two Tarweehs.
