Those Scholars Who Consider It Disliked to Face a Praying Person
Hadith 7586
٧٥٨٦ - حدثنا وكيع عن خارجة بن مصعب عن (زيد) (١) (بن) (٢) أسلم ⦗٨٣⦘ عن عطاء بن يسار، قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لا تستقبل الصورة الصورة" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ata bin Yasar that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No image should face another image."
Hadith 7587
٧٥٨٧ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن ابن عون، قال: كان إبراهيم جالسًا موليًا ظهره إلى القبلة، وإنسان قائم يصلي مستقبله، فأخذ إبراهيم يتقيه (بيده) (١) من هذا الجانب ومن هذا الجانب.
Ibn Aun narrates that Ibrahim was sitting with his back towards the Ka'bah, and a man was praying facing the Qiblah. Ibrahim was protecting himself with his hand from coming in front of him.
Hadith 7588
٧٥٨٨ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا حنظلة الجمحي عن طاوس أن رجلًا نذر أن يسجد على جبهة النبي ﷺ (فأتاه) (١) فجلس النبي ﷺ مستقبل القبلة، ثم أقام الرجل خلفه، وقال: هكذا بجبهته (فسجد) (٢) عليها (٣).
Hazrat Tawus narrates that a man made a vow that he would prostrate on the forehead of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. So he came, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sat facing the Qiblah. The man stood behind him and prostrated on his blessed forehead.
Hadith 7589
٧٥٨٩ - حدثنا وكيع قال: (نا) (١) عبد اللَّه بن (معدان (أبو) (٢) معدان) (٣) قال: سمعت طاوسا يحدث بهذا الحديث، وزاد فيه فقال (له) (٤) النبي ﷺ: "قد وفيت بنذرك" (٥).
In one narration, there is this addition that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your vow has been fulfilled."
