Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Men will say tasbih and women will clap."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that one day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer. When he stood up to say the takbeer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that if Satan makes me forget my prayer, then the men should say tasbeeh and the women should clap.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’d that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said that men will say tasbih and women will clap their hands.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that during prayer, men will say tasbih and women will clap.

Hazrat Yazid says that I sought permission to be present with Hazrat Ibn Abi Layla. He instructed his servant through a tasbih, and the servant opened the door for me.

Hasan narrates that a man sought permission to enter upon Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (he was performing prayer). He uttered tasbih, so the man entered and remained seated until he completed his prayer.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Mulaikah narrates that I saw Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz was praying when a man passed by him; upon seeing him, he recited tasbih.

Ibrahim says that if a man is praying in a room, his permission is by saying tasbih, and a woman's permission is by clapping.

Ibn Aun narrates that during prayer, if Muhammad sensed a person approaching, he would say tasbih.

Hazrat Yazid bin Abi Ziyad says that I went to meet Hazrat Salim bin Abi Ja'd; he was performing prayer, and he said "Subhan Allah." When he finished the prayer, he said that men will say "Tasbih" and women will clap.

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Men will say tasbih and women will clap their hands."

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that whenever I wished to present myself before the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and he was engaged in prayer, he would clear his throat.

Hazrat Amr bin Dinar says that I passed by Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) while he was praying; he rebuked me by saying tasbih.
