Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair says that I offered the Fajr prayer behind Hazrat Umar, and in the supplication of Qunoot he said these words: O Allah! We seek help from You, we seek forgiveness from You, we praise You well, we do not show ingratitude to You, we forsake and distance ourselves from those who disobey You. O Allah! We worship You alone, we pray for You, we prostrate before You. We walk towards You, we hope for Your mercy, we fear Your punishment, and surely Your punishment will reach the disbelievers.

Hazrat Abdul Malik bin Suwaid Kahili narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) recited these two parts while reading the Du'a Qunoot in the Fajr prayer: O Allah! We seek help from You, we seek forgiveness from You, we praise You for all good, we do not show ingratitude to You, we forsake and distance ourselves from those who disobey You. O Allah! We worship You alone, we pray for You, we prostrate before You. We walk towards You, we hope for Your mercy, we fear Your punishment, and surely Your punishment will overtake the disbelievers.

Hazrat Maymun bin Mehran says that in the Qunoot of Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b were these words: O Allah! We seek help from You, we seek forgiveness from You, we praise You for all good, we do not show ingratitude to You, we forsake and distance ourselves from those who disobey You. O Allah! We worship You alone, we pray for You, we prostrate before You. We walk towards You, we hope for Your mercy, we fear Your punishment, and surely Your punishment will reach the disbelievers.

Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair says that I heard Hazrat Umar reciting the Du'a Qunoot in the Fajr prayer. First, he said: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah! We seek help from You, we believe in You, we trust in You, we praise You for all good, and we do not show ingratitude to You. Then he recited: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah! We worship You alone, we pray for You, we prostrate before You. We walk towards You, we hope for Your mercy, we fear Your punishment, and surely Your punishment will reach the disbelievers. O Allah! Afflict with punishment those disbelievers among the People of the Book who hinder from Your path.

Hazrat Husain narrates that one day I led the Fajr prayer, and behind me, Usman bin Ziyad also prayed. I recited the words of Qunoot in the prayer. When I completed the prayer, he asked me what I had said in the Qunoot. I replied that I had said these words: O Allah! We seek help from You, we ask forgiveness from You, we praise You for all good, we do not show ingratitude to You, we forsake and distance ourselves from those who disobey You. O Allah! We worship You alone, we pray for You, we prostrate before You. We walk towards You, we hope for Your mercy, we fear Your punishment, and indeed, Your punishment will reach the disbelievers. Hazrat Usman bin Ziyad said that Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Usman used to recite these very words in the Qunoot.
