Hazrat Abu Malik Ashja'i says that I asked my father, "O my father! You offered prayer behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), you offered prayer behind Hazrat Abu Bakr, Hazrat Umar, and Hazrat Uthman. Did you see any of them recite Qunoot in prayer?" He replied, "O my son! This is a new thing."

Hazrat Amr bin Maymoon narrates that Hazrat Umar did not recite Qunoot in Fajr.

Ibrahim narrates that Hazrat Aswad and Hazrat Amr bin Maymoon offered the Fajr prayer behind Hazrat Umar, and Hazrat Umar did not recite Qunoot in Fajr.

Hazrat Saleem Abu Al-Sha’tha’ Maharabi says that I asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) about the supplication of Qunoot in the Fajr prayer. He replied, “What is Qunoot?” I said, “Qunoot is that a person, after recitation, pauses for a while to make supplication.” He said, “I do not consider it to be anything.”

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) and Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) did not recite Qunoot in the Fajr prayer.

Hazrat Amr bin Dinar says that Hazrat Ibn Zubair led them in the Fajr prayer and did not recite the Du'a Qunoot in it.

Hazrat Yazid Al-Faqir says that I offered the Fajr prayer behind Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), and he did not recite the Du'a Qunoot in it.

Hazrat Imran bin Harith says that I offered the Fajr prayer with Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) at his house; he neither recited Qunoot before bowing nor after it.

Hazrat Aswad bin Yazid says that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said these words regarding the Qunoot supplication in the Fajr prayer: "I have neither seen anyone doing this nor do I know anything about it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, recited the Du'a Qunoot after the bowing (ruku') in the Fajr prayer for a month.

Hazrat Abdullah says that if all the people walk in one valley and Hazrat Umar walks in another valley, then I will walk in the valley in which Hazrat Umar walks. If Hazrat Umar recited the Du'a Qunoot, then Abdullah would also recite Qunoot.

Hazrat Abu Majliz says that I offered prayer behind Hazrat Umar, and he did not recite the Qunoot supplication before or after bowing (ruku) in it.

Hazrat Muhammad bin Ismail says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair about Qunoot, so he said that when you have completed the recitation, then perform the bowing (ruku).

Hazrat Abu Ishaq says that I mentioned the Qunoot to Hazrat Abu Ja'far, so he said that as long as Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was with us, he did not recite the Du'a Qunoot. Then when he came to you, he started reciting the Qunoot.

Hazrat Hasan bin Ubaidullah and Sulaiman say that Ibrahim, while leading the prayer, did not recite the Qunoot supplication in the Fajr prayer.

Hazrat Mujahid and Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair state that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) did not recite the Du'a Qunoot in the Fajr prayer.
