Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Zuhri says that children born out of wedlock used to be Imams.

Ibrahim says that there is no harm in the leadership (imamat) of a child born out of wedlock.

Hazrat Sha'bi says that the testimony and leadership (imamat) of a child born out of wedlock are not permissible.

Hazrat Sha'bi says that I was asked about the leadership (imamat) of a child born out of wedlock, so he replied that we have an imam whose father's identity is not known.

Ibrahim says that there is no harm in the leadership (imamat) of a child born out of wedlock.

Abu Hanifa says that I asked Hazrat Ata about the leadership in prayer (imamat) by a child born out of wedlock, so he replied that there is no harm in it. Is it not possible that among them there is someone who prays more than us and fasts more than us?

Ibrahim says that there is no harm in the leadership (imamat) of a child born out of wedlock.

Hasan says that a child born out of wedlock is equal to others.

Hazrat Rabee' bin Mundhir narrates that I asked Harith Aklee about the leadership (imamat) of a child born out of wedlock, so he replied that it is permissible.

Hazrat Urwah narrates that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was asked about the leadership in prayer (imamat) by a child born out of wedlock. She replied that the burden of the parents' sin will not be upon him. No bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another.
