Delivering the khutbah on a camel on Eid
Hadith 5982
٥٩٨٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا وكيع عن داود بن قيس (عن عياض) (١) عن ⦗٢٦٠⦘ أبي سعيد قال: إن رسول اللَّه ﷺ خطب يوم عيد على (راحلته) (٢) (٣).
Hazrat Abu Saeed narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered the sermon on the day of Eid while sitting on his mount.
Hadith 5983
٥٩٨٣ - حدثنا ابن إدريس عن حصين عن ميسرة أبي جميلة قال: شهدت مع علي العيد فلما صلى خطب على راحلته [قال: وكان عثمان يفعله (١).
Hazrat Maisarah narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered the sermon on his mount after leading the Eid prayer. He states that Hazrat Uthman used to do the same.
Hadith 5984
٥٩٨٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر بن عياش عن يزيد عن ابن أبي ليلى قال: صلى بنا عليّ العيد ثم خطب على راحلته] (١) (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abi Layla narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in the Eid prayer and then delivered the sermon from his mount.
Hadith 5985
٥٩٨٥ - حدثنا محمد بن عبيد عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن قيس قال: رأيت المغيرة بن شعبة يخطب على (بختيه) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Qais narrates that I saw Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah delivering a sermon while mounted on a she-camel.
Hadith 5986
٥٩٨٦ - حدثنا وكيع عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن أخيه عن أبي كاهل قال: رأيت النبي فيخطب على ناقة (خرماء) (١) وحبشي ممسك بخطامها (٢).
Hazrat Abu Kahil narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon while mounted on a she-camel. An Abyssinian was holding the rein of that she-camel.
Hadith 5987
٥٩٨٧ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال (أنا) (١) سعيد بن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن شهر بن حوشب عن عبد الرحمن بن (غنم) (٢) عن عمرو بن خارجة أن النبي ﷺ خطبهم وهو على راحلته قال: وإن (راحلته) (٣) (لتقصع) (٤) (بجرتها) (٥) وإن لعابها ليسيل بين كتفي (٦).
Hazrat Amr bin Khariyah narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon while on his mount. At that time, his she-camel was chewing the cud and its saliva was flowing between its shoulders.
Hadith 5988
٥٩٨٨ - حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم عن عكرمة بن عمار قال: (ثنا) (١) الهرماس بن زياد قال: كانت (ردف أبي) (٢) يوم الأضحى ورسول اللَّه ﷺ يخطب على ناقة بمنى (٣).
Hazrat Harmas bin Ziyad narrates that on the day of Eid al-Adha, I was riding behind my father and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon in Mina while seated on a she-camel.
Hadith 5989
٥٩٨٩ - حدثنا وكيع عن أبي (جناب) (١) عن أبيه عن المغيرة بن شعبة قال: (خطبنا) (٢) علي يوم عيد على راحلته (٣).
Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon to us on the day of Eid while mounted on his ride.
Hadith 5990
٥٩٩٠ - حدثنا جرير (عن) (١) مغيرة عن شباك عن إبراهيم قال: كان الإمام يوم العيد يبدأ فيصلي ثم يركب فيخطب.
Ibrahim says that on the day of Eid, the Imam should first lead the prayer, then deliver the sermon while mounted.
Hadith 5991
٥٩٩١ - (١) حدثنا (٢) المحاربي عن عبد الملك بن عمير أنه سمعه (يذكره) (٣) قال: رأيت المغيرة بن شعبة يخطب الناس يوم العيد على بعير (٤).
Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah delivered the sermon to the people on the day of Eid while mounted on a camel.
