Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Abi Talib was asked that some weak people are unable to go to the Eidgah to perform the prayer. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered a man to lead these people in four rak'ahs: two rak'ahs for the Eid prayer and two rak'ahs in place of not going to the Eidgah.

Hazrat Abu Ishaq narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) instructed a man to lead two rak'ahs (units of prayer) for the weak people in the mosque.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) instructed a man to lead the weak people in four rak'ahs on the day of Eid, just like the Zuhr prayer.

Isa says that Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila led the people in two units of prayer in the mosque of Kufa during the governorship of Hazrat Mus'ab bin Zubair.

Ibn Abi Layla narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) led the people in two units of prayer in the mosque of Kufa. A man asked Ibn Abi Layla whether he had led the prayer without delivering a sermon. He replied, "Yes."

Hazrat Muslim bin Yazid narrates that Hazrat Qasim bin Abdur Rahman led two rak'ahs of prayer and delivered a sermon in the central mosque on the day of Eid.

Hazrat Areef says that I have seen Abdullah bin Huzail coming to the main mosque on the day of Eid.
