Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Ishaq says that Saeed bin Jubair, Ibrahim, and Alqamah used to offer four rak'ahs after Eid.

Yazid bin Abi Ziyad says: I saw Ibrahim, Saeed bin Jubair, Mujahid, and Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila performing four rak'ahs after Eid.

Ibrahim narrates that on the day of Eid, when Alqamah would arrive at the Eid ground, he would sit down and not perform any prayer until the Imam led the prayer. When the Imam had finished leading the prayer, he would then perform four rak‘ahs.

Hazrat Sha'bi narrates that when Hazrat Abdullah would return home after offering the Eid prayer, he would perform four rak'ahs.

Hazrat Aswad bin Hilal narrates that I went with Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) for Eid. When the Imam had led the prayer, he (Hazrat Ali) performed four rak‘ahs.

Ibrahim states that the students of Alqamah and Abdullah used to offer four rak‘ahs after Eid.

Ibrahim says that the predecessors used to offer four rak‘ahs after the ‘Eid prayer and did not offer anything before the ‘Eid prayer.

Hazrat Asim narrates that Hasan and Hazrat Ibn Sirin used to offer a long-standing prayer after Eid.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Buraidah narrates that his father used to offer four rak‘ahs of prayer before and after the Eid prayer.

Ibrahim narrates that Hazrat Aswad used to perform prayer before Eid, and Hazrat Alqamah did not do so before Eid, but would perform it afterwards.

Ibrahim says that Abdullah's statement is sufficient for you, that it (the sacrifice) is after the Eid prayer.
