Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Ja'far narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to wear his red cloak on Fridays and would tie a turban on the days of Eid.

Hazrat Nafi' reports that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to perform a bath on Friday like the bath of major ritual impurity, wear his best clothes, and then go for the prayer.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Laila narrates that I had the company of the companions of Badr and the companions of Shajrah among the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Those individuals used to wear their best clothes on Friday, apply fragrance, and then go for Jumu'ah.

Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the people in a disheveled state on Friday, so he said: "If they were to make two garments for this day, it would not harm them."
