Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ju'd Damri that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever misses three Fridays without a valid excuse, a seal is set upon his heart.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) and Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrate that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sat on the pulpit and said: People should refrain from abandoning Jumu'ah, otherwise Allah will seal their hearts and write them among the heedless.

It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever leaves Friday (prayer) without an excuse should give one dinar in charity; if he cannot find one dinar, then he should give half a dinar in charity.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that whoever deliberately misses three consecutive Fridays, Allah Almighty sets a seal upon his heart.

Hazrat Abu Huraira says that even if I were to get many red camels, I would not prefer that over missing the Friday prayer without a valid excuse.

It is narrated from Hazrat Muhammad bin Abbad bin Ja'far that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: It may be that one of you keeps a flock of goats at a distance of two or three miles and then does not come for Jumu'ah, then Jumu'ah comes and he does not come for the Jumu'ah prayer, then Jumu'ah comes and he does not come for the Jumu'ah prayer, so Allah Almighty sets a seal upon his heart.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: My heart desires that I appoint a man to lead the prayer, and I go to the houses of those who do not attend the Friday prayer and burn them down.

Hazrat Mujahid states that a man kept asking Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) for a month: A man spends the whole night in prayer and fasts during the day, but he does not participate in Friday (prayer) and congregation, so what is his ruling? Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied that he is of the people of Hell.
