Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Zaid bin Suhan says that if you see someone talking during the sermon on Friday, if he is near you, signal to him with your eyes. If he is far, forbid him with a gesture. However, it is not permissible to throw pebbles.

Hazrat Abu Farwah says that I saw Hazrat Ibn Abi Layla gesture to Muhammad bin Sa’d to be silent. He was talking during the sermon.

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) saw a man talking during the Friday sermon. He threw a pebble at him, and when the man looked towards him, he placed his hand on his mouth and signaled him to be silent.

Hazrat Alqamah narrates that if someone sees a person talking during the Friday sermon, he should place his hand over his own mouth and should not throw pebbles at him.

Ibrahim says that he will place his hand on his mouth.

Ayyub narrates that Muhammad used to signal with his hand to silence the one who spoke during the sermon.

Hasan saw a man who was talking during the Friday sermon, so he threw a pebble at him.

Hazrat Tawus says that during the Friday sermon, do not gesture to anyone, do not forbid anyone from anything, and do not call anyone, until the Imam himself draws his attention and makes him silent.

Hazrat Mujza’ah narrates that his father, Hazrat Zahir, saw a man talking on Friday. He gestured to him to remain silent.

Hazrat Saeed bin Abdullah bin Yasar narrates that I was with Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair on Friday and the Imam was delivering the sermon. I touched the pebbles lying on the ground, so he struck my hand.
