Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Nafi' reports that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to perform a single ghusl (ritual bath) for both Jumu'ah and Janabah.

Hazrat Umar bin Abi Muslim narrates that the nephew of Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair used to bathe in the bathhouse on Fridays. Hazrat Urwah said to him, "O my nephew! You have bathed in the bathhouse to remove dirt and filth. Now bathe again for Jumu'ah (Friday prayer) as well."

Yahya bin Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah narrates that my mother told me that her father used to say that one of Abu Qatadah’s sons came on Friday after performing ghusl and combing his hair. He asked, “Did you perform ghusl for Jumu’ah?” He replied, “No, this was the ghusl of janabah.” Abu Qatadah said, “Then perform ghusl for Jumu’ah as well.”
