Hadith 4148
٤١٤٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا حميد بن عبد الرحمن (عن) (١) زهير عن عمران بن مسلم قال: قال سويد: لو استطعت لكنت أؤذن لهم وأؤمهم، قال (٢): فذكرت ذلك لمصعب بن سعد فقال: أما إن ذلك ليس من السنة؛ أن يكون (مؤذنا وإماما) (٣) (٤).
Hazrat Imran bin Muslim narrates that Hazrat Suwaid said: If I had the strength to both give the adhan and lead the prayer, I would have done so. Hazrat Imran says that I mentioned this to Hazrat Mus'ab bin Sa'd, and he said: It is not Sunnah for one person to both give the adhan and lead the prayer.
Hadith 4149
٤١٤٩ - حدثنا وكيع عن ابن أبي (رواد) (١) عن (نافع) (٢) قال: كان ابن عمر يؤذن لنا ويؤمنا في السفر (٣).
Hazrat Asbagh narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to give the call to prayer (adhan) and also lead the prayer (imamat) while traveling.
Hadith 4150
٤١٥٠ - حدثنا وكيع عن إسرائيل عن ضرار بن مرة عن عبد اللَّه بن أبي الهذيل (العنزي) (١) قال: قال عمر: لولا أن يكون سنة لأذنت (٢).
Hazrat Umar says that if it were not Sunnah for the call to prayer (adhan) and leading the prayer (imamat) to be performed by separate individuals, I would have given the adhan as well.
