Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform prayer facing towards his camel.

Hazrat Miqdām Rahāwī says that Hazrat ‘Ubādah bin Sāmit, Hazrat Abū al-Dardā’, and Hazrat Hārith bin Mu‘āwiyah were sitting together. Hazrat Abū al-Dardā’ said, “Who among you will narrate the hadith in which it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed facing the spoils of war camels?” Hazrat ‘Ubādah said, “I will narrate it.” Hazrat Abū al-Dardā’ said, “Narrate it.” He stated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed facing the spoils of war camels.

Hazrat Abu Idris Khawlani narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered prayer facing towards a camel.

Hazrat Amr narrates that when there was a saddle on the camel, Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would perform prayer facing towards it.

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to make his mount sit crosswise and would perform prayer facing it.

Hazrat Asim narrates that I saw Hazrat Anas facing towards the camel with a litter and performing prayer, and the camel was between him and the Qibla.

Hazrat Ibrahim bin Abdul A'la says that I saw Suwaid bin Ghaflah, that on the way to Makkah, he would make his camel sit down and would perform prayer facing towards it.

Hazrat Amarah says that Hazrat Aswad used to perform prayer facing his mount, and the mount would be sitting in front of him.

Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Umar narrates that I have seen Hazrat Qasim and Hazrat Salim performing prayer facing towards a camel.

Hazrat Hajjaj says that Hazrat Ata used to use a camel as a sutrah.

Hasan says that there is no harm in using a camel as a sutrah.
