Consequence of being lazy in salah
Hadith 3479
٣٤٧٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: (حدثنا) (١) سفيان بن عيينة عن الزهري عن سالم عن أبيه رفعه قال: (إِنَّ) (٢) الَّذِي تَفُوتُهُ الْعَصْرُ فَكَأَنَّمَا وُتِرَ أَهْلَهُ وَمَالَهُ (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever misses the Asr prayer, it is as if his family and wealth and possessions have all been taken away from him.
Hadith 3480
٣٤٨٠ - حدثنا هشيم عن حجاج عن نافع عن ابن عمر (قال: قال) (١) رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "مَنْ تَركَ الْعَصْرَ حَتَّى تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ غَيْرِ عُذْرٍ فَكَأَنَّمَا وُتِرَ أهْلَهُ وَمَالَهُ" (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever misses the Asr prayer until the sun sets, it is as if all his family and wealth have been taken away from him.
Hadith 3481
٣٤٨١ - حدثنا شبابة قال: حدثنا ليث بن لممعد عن يزيد بن (أبي) (١) حبيب عن عراك عن (نوفل) (٢) بن معاوية (بن عروة) (٣) قال: سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول: [(إنَّ) (٤) مِن الصَّلَوَاتِ صَلَاةَ مَنْ فَاتَتْهُ فَكَأَنَّماَ وُتِرَ أَهْلَهُ وَ (مَالَهُ) (٥)، فقال [[(ابن) (٦) عمر: سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول] (٧). "هِيَ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ" (٨).
Hazrat Nofal bin Muawiyah narrates that I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Among the prayers, there is one prayer that whoever misses it, it is as if all his family, wealth, and property have been taken away from him. Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that it is the Asr prayer.
Hadith 3482
٣٤٨٢ - حدثنا هشيم قال: أنا عباد بن ميسرة المنقري عن أبي قلابة والحسن: أنهما كانا جالسين فقال أبو قلابة: قال أبو الدرداء: من ترك العصر حتى تفوته من غير عذر فقد حبط عمله (١). -[قال (٢): وقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "مَنْ تَرَكَ صَلَاةً مَكتُوَبةً حَتَّى تَفُوتَهُ مِنْ غَيرِ عُذْرٍ فَقَدْ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُ"] (٣).
Hazrat Abad bin Maisarah says that once Hazrat Abu Qilabah and Hasan were sitting together. Hazrat Abu Qilabah said that Hazrat Abu Darda used to say that whoever neglects the Asr prayer without a valid excuse, his deeds are wasted. And he said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said that whoever abandons any obligatory prayer without a valid excuse, his deeds are wasted.
Hadith 3483
٣٤٨٣ - حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن يحيى بن سعيد عن أبي جعفر قال: من فاتته (العممر) (١) (فكأنما) (٢) وتر أهله.
Hazrat Abu Ja'far says that whoever misses the Asr prayer, it is as if his family and wealth have been taken away from him.
Hadith 3484
٣٤٨٤ - حدثنا أبو أسامة قال: (حدثنا) (١) الأعمش]] (٢) عن (مالك) (٣) بن الحارث عن ابن عباس قال: كان سليمان بن داود النبي ﵉ لا يكلم إعظاما له، فلقد فاتته العصر وما استطاع أحد أن يكلمه (٤).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that due to the greatness of Hazrat Sulaiman bin Dawood, no one could speak to him. Once, he missed his Asr prayer, so no one had the strength to speak to him.
Hadith 3485
٣٤٨٥ - حدثنا محمد بن (بشر) (١) قال: (أنا) (٢) إسماعيل (بن) (٣) أبي خالد عن أوس بن (ضمعج) (٤) قال: أخبرت أنه من أخطأته العصر فكأنما وتر أهله وماله.
Hazrat Aws bin Zam‘ah narrates that I have been informed that the person who misses the ‘Asr prayer is like one whose family and wealth have all been taken away from him.
Hadith 3486
٣٤٨٦ - حدثنا عيسى بن يونس ووكيع عن الأوزاعي عن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن أبي قلابة عن أبي المهاجر عن بريدة الأسلمي قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "مَنْ فَاتَتْهُ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُ" (١).
Hazrat Buraidah Aslami narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever misses the Asr prayer, his deeds are lost.
Hadith 3487
٣٤٨٧ - حدثنا يزيد (عن) (١) هشام عن يحيى عن أبي قلابة عن (أبي) (٢) المليح عن بريدة عن النبي ﷺ مثل حديث عيسى ووكيع (٣).
It is narrated similarly through another chain.
