Virtue of the first takbir
Hadith 3147
٣١٤٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر بن عياش (عن أبي إسحاق) (١) عن الوليد (البجلي) (٢) قال: قال عبد اللَّه: عليكم بحد الصلاة: التكبيرة الأولى (٣).
Hazrat Abdullah says that it is necessary for you to be punctual about the prescribed time of prayer, that is, the first Takbeer.
Hadith 3148
٣١٤٨ - [حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن عمران بن مسلم عن خيثمة قال: بكر الصلاة: التكبيرة الأولى] (١).
Hazrat Khaythamah says that the beginning of the prayer is with the first Takbeer.
Hadith 3149
٣١٤٩ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن أبي فروة يزيد بن سنان قال: حدثنا أبو (عبيد) (١) الحاجب قال: سمعت (شيخا) (٢) في المسجد الحرام يقول: قال (أبو الدرداء) (٣): قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إِنَّ لِكُلِّ شَيء أنَفُةُ، وإِنَّ أَنَفَة الصَّلاة: التَّكبْيَرةُ الأولى فَحَافِظُوا عَلَيْها" (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Darda that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Everything has a beginning, and the beginning of prayer is the first Takbeer, so adhere to it." Abu Ubaid says: I narrated this hadith to Raja bin Haywah, and he said that Hazrat Umm Darda had narrated it to me from Hazrat Abu Darda in the same way.
