Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Muhammad narrates that a menstruating woman used to comb the hair of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say that her menstruation is not in her hand.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I used to comb the hair of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while I was in the state of menstruation and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the state of i'tikaf.

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that sometimes the menstruating slave-girl of Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) would help him perform ablution and would wash his feet.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Dinar narrates that the menstruating slave-girl of Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to wash his feet.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would extend his blessed head towards me while I was in the state of menstruation and he was in the state of i'tikaf. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would place his blessed head in my lap and I would wash and comb his hair while I was in the state of menstruation.

Hazrat Mughira says that Hazrat Abu Zubyan asked Ibrahim whether a menstruating woman can help a sick person perform ablution. He replied that there is no harm in it.

Hasan says that there is no harm if a menstruating woman washes a man's head and combs his hair.

The mother of Hazrat Manbooz says that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) came to Hazrat Maymunah. She said, "O my son! What is the matter? I see your hair in a disheveled state." He replied, "The one who combs my hair, Umm Ammar, is in a state of menstruation." Hazrat Maymunah said, "O my son! Is menstruation in the hand?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to place his blessed head in the lap of one of us even though she was menstruating.
