Does the One Who Slaughters an Animal Need to Perform Wudu?
Hadith 2109
٢١٠٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن عمران بن حدير عن عيسى بن هلال عن كثير مولى (ابن سمرة) (١) قال: من ذبح ذبيحة فليتوضأ.
Hazrat Kathir says that whoever slaughters an animal should perform ablution.
Hadith 2110
٢١١٠ - حدثنا وكيع (عن ربيع) (١) عن الحسن: في الرجل يذبح البعير، والشاة قال: إن أصابه دم غسله، وليس عليه وضوء.
Hasan, regarding the person who slaughters a camel or a goat, says that if blood gets on him, he should wash it off, and wudu is not obligatory upon him.
Hadith 2111
٢١١١ - حدثنا مصعب بن المقدام عن زائدة عن (المغيرة) (١) عن إبراهيم قال: إذا توضأ الرجل، ثم ذبح شاة، لم يقطع ذلك طهوره، وإن أصابه دم غسله، وإن لم يصبه دم، فلا شيء عليه.
Ibrahim says that if a person slaughters a goat after performing ablution, his ablution is not broken, and if blood gets on him, he should wash it off, and if no blood gets on him, then nothing is required.
