Those Who Say to Wear a Waistcloth When Entering Water
Hadith 2105
٢١٠٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا شريك عن أبي فروة قال: ذهبت مع ابن أبي ليلى إلى الفرات، فدخله بثوب أو قال: بمئزر، وقال: إن له (ساكنًا) (١).
Hazrat Abu Farwah says that I went to the river Euphrates with Hazrat Ibn Abi Laila. He entered it wearing clothes and said that even a river has a still part.
Hadith 2106
٢١٠٦ - حدثنا المحاربي عن ليث قال: أخبرني من رأى حسين بن علي دخل الماء بإزار وقال: إن له ساكنًا (١).
Hazrat Laith says that someone informed me that Hazrat Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) put on a woolen garment and entered the water, and said that even this has someone who keeps it still.
Hadith 2107
٢١٠٧ - حدثنا ابن فضيل عن حصين قال: حدثني من رأى عمر مستنقعا في الماء، وعليه قميص، ثم خرج، فدعى بملحفة (فلبسها) (١) فوق القميص (٢).
Hazrat Husain narrates that a person who had seen Hazrat Umar told me that he entered the water wearing a shirt. Then he came out and asked for a sheet and wore it over the shirt.
Hadith 2108
٢١٠٨ - حدثنا محمد بن بشر قال: حدثنا (هشام) (١) بن سعد قال: حدثنا زيد ابن أسلم عن عمرو بن سعد الجاري -وكان مولى عمر- قال: أتانا عمر (صادرا) (٢) عن الحج في نفر من أصحاب رسول اللَّه ﷺ، فقال: (يا ابن سعد) (٣) أبغنا مناديل، فأتى بمناديل فقال: اغتسلوا فيه، فإنه مبارك (٤).
Hazrat Amr bin Saad narrates that when Hazrat Umar returned from Hajj, he came to us with a group of companions and said, "O Saad, bring us towels." When towels were brought to him, he said, "Wash yourselves with them, these are blessed things."
