Ruling if a Blood Stain Remains After Washing Clothes
Hadith 2092
٢٠٩٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن نمير عن (عبيد اللَّه) (١) بن عمر (عن نافع) (٢) عن ابن عمر: أنه رأى في ثوبه دمًا، فغسله، فبقي أثره أسود، ودعى بمقص (فقصه) (٣)، فقرضه (٤).
Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) saw a blood stain on his clothes, so he washed it, but a black mark remained. He called for scissors and cut it off.
Hadith 2093
٢٠٩٣ - حدثنا وكيع عن حريث عن الشعبي قال: إذا غسلت الدم، فبقي أثره فلا يضرك.
Hazrat Sha'bi says that when you wash off the blood, there is no harm if its stain remains.
Hadith 2094
٢٠٩٤ - حدثنا وكيع عن الفضل بن دلهم عن الحسن: مثله.
It is also narrated in the same way from Hasan.
Hadith 2095
٢٠٩٥ - حدثنا وكيع عن علي بن مبارك عن كريمة ابنة همام قالت: سمعت عائشة وسئلت عن دم (الحيض) (١) يصيب الثوب فقالت: اغسليه، فقالت: غسلته فلم يذهب أثره، فقالت: اغسليه، فإن الماء طهور (٢).
A woman asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) what should be done if menstrual blood gets on clothes? She replied: Wash it. The woman asked: I wash it, but its stain does not go away? Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: Wash it, water is a means of purification.
