Ruling on Wiping Over Shoes Without Socks
Hadith 2013
٢٠١٣ - وكيع عن سفيان عن حبيب عن زيد: أن عليًا بال، ومسح على النعلين (١).
Hazrat Zaid narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) urinated and wiped over his shoes.
Hadith 2014
٢٠١٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر عن (حنان) (١) عن (سدير) (٢) عن أبي جعفر قال: لا يمسح على النعلين.
Hazrat Abu Ja'far says that wiping over shoes will not be done.
Hadith 2015
٢٠١٥ - حدثنا شريك عن يعلى (بن عطاء) (١) عن أوس بن أبي (أوس) (٢) قال: انتهيت مع أبي إلى ماء من مياه الأعراب، فتوضأ، ومسح على نعليه، فقلت له؟ فقال: رأيت رسول اللَّه ﷺ فعله (٣).
Hazrat Aws bin Abi Aws narrates that I went with my father to a spring of the villagers. He performed ablution there and wiped over his shoes. Then I asked him about this, and he said that I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, doing the same.
Hadith 2016
٢٠١٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر عن ابن إدريس عن الأعمش عن (أبي ظبيان) (١) قال: رأيت عليًا بال قائمًا، ثم توضأ، ومسح على نعليه، ثم أقام المؤذن، فخلعهما (٢).
Hazrat Abu Zhibyan says that I saw Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) stand and urinate, then perform ablution and wipe over his shoes, then when the muezzin gave the iqamah, he removed his shoes.
Hadith 2017
٢٠١٧ - حدثنا سفيان عن الزبير بن عدي عن أكيل عن سويد بن غفلة: أن عليًا بال، ومسح على النعلين (١).
Hazrat Suwaid bin Ghaflah narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) urinated and performed masah (wiping) over his shoes.
Hadith 2018
٢٠١٨ - حدثنا جرير بن عبد الحميد عن عبد العزيز بن رفيع عن أبي ظبيان: رأى عليًا بال في الرحبة، ثم توضأ، ومسح على نعليه (١).
Hazrat Abu Zubyan narrates that I saw Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) urinating at the place of Rahb, then he performed ablution and wiped over his shoes.
