Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Huzail narrates that my brother Arqam bin Sharhabeel asked Hazrat Ibn Masood: Sometimes while scratching, my hand touches the private part; what is the ruling on this? He replied: If you think that this organ is impure, then cut it off.

A man asked Hazrat Sa’d about touching the private part, so he replied, “If you think that this is an impure organ in your body, then cut it off.”

Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I do not care whether I touch my private part or I touch my ear.

Hazrat Abdullah says that for me, touching the private part, the thumb, the ear, or the nose is the same.

The same is also narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).

Umair bin Saeed says that I was sitting in the gathering of Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir. He was asked about touching the private part during prayer, so he replied that after all, it is just one of your body parts, but you can touch other places as well.

Hazrat Imran bin Husain says that for me, touching the private part and the thigh is the same.

Hazrat Taliq bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as a delegation. We pledged allegiance on your hand and performed prayer with you. In the meantime, a man came and asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is the ruling if one touches his private part during prayer? He replied: It is only a part of your body.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about touching the private part, so he said: There is no harm in it.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Uthman says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair about touching the private part during prayer, so he replied that for me, touching the private part and the nose is the same.

Ibrahim says that there is no harm in touching the dhikr during prayer.

Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that for me, touching the private part and the edge of the nose is the same. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that for me, touching the private part and the edge of the ear is the same.

Hazrat Tawus and Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair say that whoever touched the private part unintentionally, his ablution was not broken.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about touching the private part, so he said: "It is only a part of your body."

Hazrat Abdullah was asked about touching the private part, so he replied that there is no harm in it.
