Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Bakr delivered a sermon in which he said: O group of Muslims, be modest before Allah. By Him in Whose hand is my life, when I cover my head and go to relieve myself in a secluded place, even then I feel modesty before Allah Almighty.

Hazrat Abu Musa says that I bathe in a dark room, yet even when taking off my clothes, I lower my waist out of modesty before Allah Almighty.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abu Qirad narrates that I performed Hajj with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he went very far away to relieve himself.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I never saw the private parts of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hazrat Abdullah bin Aamir narrates that once my father saw me in a state where I and another man were both bathing; he was pouring water on me and I was pouring water on him. He called out to me loudly and said, "Can a man see the private parts of another man? By God! You are not a good successor of mine."

Hazrat Umar said: No man may look at the awrah of another.

Hazrat Salman says that for me to die and then be brought back to life, then die and be brought back to life, then die and be brought back to life—this is more beloved to me than that I see the private parts of any man or any man sees my private parts.

Hazrat Abu Musa says that I would prefer to die and then be brought back to life rather than have someone see my private parts.

Hazrat Ibn Tawoos says that my father instructed me to cover my head when entering the toilet. The narrator asked why he gave you this instruction; he replied, I do not know.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: No man should look at the private parts of another man, and no woman should look at the private parts of another woman.

Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah narrates that I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey. He said, “O Mughirah, pick up the vessel.” I picked it up and started walking with him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went so far ahead of me that he was no longer visible, then he relieved himself.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey. When he needed to relieve himself, he would go so far away that he would no longer be visible.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) needed to relieve himself, he would go so far away that no one could see him, and he would lift his garment while being very close to the ground.

Hazrat Abu Musa says that after accepting Islam, I never straightened my back while bathing.
