Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah says that whoever performed the ritual bath (ghusl) of janabah using the plant called khatmi, he performed the bath in a good manner.

It is also narrated similarly from Hazrat Jabir.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that whoever, while performing ghusl for janabah, washed his head with something used for washing, he performed a very good ghusl.

Hazrat Abdullah says that whoever washed his head with khatmi herb has performed a very good bath. Hazrat Harith also says that the water falling from the khatmi herb should not be poured back onto the head.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that after washing with khatmi, there is no need to wash the head again.

Hazrat Abdullah was asked whether it is sufficient for a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) to wash his head with marsh mallow (khitmi). Ibrahim also says the same, or he says that there is no need to wash again.

Hazrat Abdullah was asked if it is sufficient for a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) to wash his head with marsh mallow (khitmi). He replied: It is sufficient; there is no need to wash the head again.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair was asked: If a person washes his head with water of the lote tree (sidr) during the ritual bath of janabah, what should he do? He replied: There is no need to wash again.

Hazrat Abu Salamah says that if a person in a state of janabah washes his head with khatmi herb, it is sufficient.

It is also narrated similarly from Hazrat Dhahhak.
