Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

According to Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), kissing is like touching, and he used to give the ruling of ablution because of kissing.

According to Abdullah, kissing is like touching, and he used to command ablution because of kissing.

Ibrahim says that when a person kisses out of desire, his ablution will be broken.

It is similarly narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi.

It is narrated in the same way from Hazrat Sha'bi through another chain of transmission.

Hazrat Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah says that I asked Hazrat Zuhri about the ruling on kissing, so he said, "The scholars used to say that it makes ablution obligatory."

Hazrat Hakam and Hazrat Hammad say that if one kisses or touches, ablution becomes obligatory.

Hazrat Sha'bi says that a kiss breaks the ablution.

Hazrat Hammad says that if a man kisses his wife and the wife does not desire it, then the man's ablution will be nullified but not the woman's. If the woman kisses the man, then ablution will be obligatory on the woman but not on the man. If the man feels desire, then his ablution will also be nullified, and if a man kisses a woman and she does not desire it but he feels desire, then his ablution will be nullified.

Ibrahim said to his wife, "O Haneedah! I praise Allah. If I did not have to maintain my state of ablution, I would have kissed you."
