Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) used to wash the place of cupping after having cupping done.

Hazrat Alqamah and Hazrat Aswad did not perform ghusl after cupping.

Ibrahim used to wash the place of cupping.

Hasan and Hazrat Ibn Sirin used to say that wash the place of cupping.

Hasan and Muhammad say that after cupping, a person should perform ablution and wash the places where the cups were applied.

According to Hazrat Mak’hool, if a person does not perform ghusl after cupping, there is no harm; even if there are no traces of blood, it is not necessary to wash the place of cupping.

When Hasan was asked about a person who had undergone cupping, he replied: He should wash the places where the cupping was done.

Hazrat Ibn al-Hanafiyyah says that he should wash the marks of cupping.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that I asked Hazrat Qasim, Hazrat Amir, and Hazrat Tawus, "Should I perform ghusl after cupping?" They replied, "No." Abu Ja'far said, "Just wash the marks of the cupping."

Hazrat Hisham states that my father, Hazrat Urwah, after getting cupped, would wash the marks of cupping and perform ablution, and then offer prayer.

Hazrat Qasim used to wash the marks of cupping with water.
