Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that whoever, after completing ablution, says: "O Allah, I declare Your purity and praise You. I bear witness that there is no deity except You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance," then a seal is placed upon his words, and these phrases are preserved beneath the Throne. This seal will not be opened before the Day of Resurrection.

Hazrat Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say these words after completing ablution: "I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the servant and messenger of Allah. O my Lord! Make me among those who repent and make me among those who remain pure."

It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever performs ablution well, then offers two units of prayer with complete humility, devotion, and presence of heart and mind, Paradise becomes obligatory for him." Upon hearing this narration from Hazrat Uqbah, Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had said something even more than this; perhaps you arrived late. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever performs ablution and then says these words: 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is His servant and Messenger,' then all eight gates of Paradise are opened for him, and he may enter Paradise through whichever gate he wishes."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever, after performing ablution, recites these words three times: "I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is Allah’s servant and Messenger," then all eight gates of Paradise are opened for him, and he may enter Paradise through whichever gate he wishes.

Hazrat Abu Al-Minhāl narrates that Hazrat Abu Al-‘Āliyah saw a man performing ablution. When he finished his ablution, he said, “O Allah! Make me among those who repent and among those who purify themselves.” Upon hearing this supplication, Hazrat Abu Al-‘Āliyah said that attaining purity through water is excellent, but these people are those who also purify themselves from sins.

It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever performs ablution thoroughly, then turns his face towards the sky and says these words: "I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is Allah’s servant and Messenger," then all eight gates of Paradise are opened for him, and he may enter Paradise through whichever gate he wishes.

Hazrat Dhahhak narrates that when Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) performed ablution, he would recite this supplication: "I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is Allah’s servant and Messenger. O Allah! Make me among those who repent and among those who purify themselves."
