Hadith 9912
٩٩١٢ - حدثنا وكيِع عن سفيان عن زياد (بن) (١) علاقة عن عمه قطبة بن مالك أن عمر رأى قومًا اعتكفوا في المسجد وقد ستروا فأنكره وقال: ما هذا، قالوا: إنما نستره على طعامنا، قال: فاستروه فإذا طعمتم فاهتكوه (٢).
Hazrat Umar saw some people who had set up curtains in the mosque for i'tikaf. Hazrat Umar forbade them from this and asked, "What is this?" They said, "We have set up the curtains for eating food." Hazrat Umar said, "You may set up curtains for eating food, but when you have finished eating, remove the curtains."
