ما قالوا في الشهر كم هو يوماHow many days are there in a month?
Hadith 9863
٩٨٦٣ - حدثنا عبيدة بن حميد عن الأسود بن قيس عن (سعيد) (١) بن عمرو أن عبد اللَّه بن (عمر) (٢) حدثهم أن النبي ﷺ قال: "إنا أمة أمية لا نكتب ولا نحسب الشهر (هكذا وهكذا) (٣) "، وضرب بيده ثلاثًا ثم نقص (٤) واحدة (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We are an unlettered nation; we neither write nor calculate. The month is like this, like this, and like this. On the third time, he raised his hand and folded one finger, meaning he counted up to twenty-nine.
