Hadith 9719
٩٧١٩ - حدثنا حسين بن علي (عن) (١) زائدة عن سماك عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس قال: جاء (٢) أعرابي إلى النبي ﷺ فقال: يا رسول اللَّه إني رأيت الهلال الليلة، قال: "تشهد أن لا إله الا اللَّه وأن محمدًا عبده ورسوله؟ "، قال: نعم. قال: "يا بلال ناد في الناس (فليصوموا) (٣) غدًا" (٤).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that once a Bedouin came to the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said that he had seen the moon the previous night. The Prophet asked him, "Do you bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's servant and His Messenger?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Bilal, announce among the people that they should fast tomorrow."
